This is a draft, please review and edit it! This badly needs to be improved upon.
This may contain plenty of both linguistic and factual mistakes, you have been warned.
Editing your deck
Editing a basic card property
This guide will explain how to edit basic card properties such as expression, meaning and reading.
First of all we need to open the edit window. From the menu choose, "Edit / Edit Deck" (or press CTRL+E).
Now to actually edit a card in the deck.
Select the desired card to edit in the list. If the list is very long you might want to try the search function at the top.
- In the "fields" section below, edit one or several of the basic card properties.
That's it! Close the edit window and don't forget to save your deck "Deck / Save" (or CTRL+S)
Ooops, I made a mistake! If you make a mistake while editing a card property, you can right click and from the pop-up menu choose "undo". In case you already made several mistakes or realized it much too late, you can try to re-open your deck again without saving it. Warning! This will lose ALL changes made to your deck since the last save.
Searching for entries to edit
For bigger decks the top left section "search" will come in handy.
To search all the fields for an entry, type in your search in the "Question/Answer:" input box. You can narrow your search further by selecting a tag from the "Tag:" drop-down menu. No entry in the Question/Answer: input box will display the full deck list.
Example: Let's say you have a deck for learning Japanese, then a card in your deck will as default consist of three field properties "Expression, Meaning, Reading" and user defined tags. In this case I want to search for the word 雨 to add a picture to it.
1.Enter the word "雨" in the "Question/Answer:" field.
Unfortunately this brings up all cards containing the kanji "雨" and the list is still too long. I've also tagged all my cards from the workbook "げんき" to practice vocabulary from it more easily.
2. In the drop-down menu to the right I will choose my user defined tag "genki1".
Now this narrowed down the list quite a bit.
3. As a last act out of pure laziness, in the top right section called "Sort" I will choose to sort by "Creation date".
There it is, right at the top! Yay, now I can finally add my beautiful picture I made in ms paint!
